Sensei Brock, Congradulations on all of the hard work you have put into such a succesful Dojo. Finding work has pushed me in directions that have hampered any efforts for me to study or practice on a regular basis, I do hope to in the future however. So it is nice to know Shotokan is alive and thriving on the shore. Keep up the good work

It is a silly notion to be upset about the mention or non-mention of lineage. The farther we get from the originals the more branches there are to lineage, whether in one's family or one's karate style. It is said that our lineage comes through Mas Oyama, who trained with Funakoshi. Again, congratulations to the Preston Dojo for the great job in keeping the ideals of Shotokan alive.

To all the karate-ka who tested yesterday: Sensei Brock conducted an excellent test and I'm sure she will have results soon. Remember that a promotion test is important not for the things you did well, but for the things that need improvement. Work hard to make sure that mistakes don't happen next time and that all suggested corrections are made. Mike: I am so proud of your karate accomplishments. It is an honor to share the rank of Nidan with you. Congratulations.

Sparring went very well last night. I am so impressed with the progress of those with whom I sparred - Jeff, Brian, Marty, and Jimmy. You all have come a long way and gave me quite a workout that I can sure feel today. Thanks again to Sensei Brock and you all for allowing me to work with you!
